Educational Excellence (EdEx) 2013 Launch Party
You are invited!
The Newton North Green Campus Project is the ED EX 2013 Campaign. Each year, Principal Jennifer Price and Newton North faculty identify the Campaign’s target projects, with the goal of creating up-to-date, diverse and stimulating curriculum and environment for every student at North. See some examples of Greengineering projects students have participated in HERE.
DATE: Tuesday, May 21st
TIME: 7-8:30 p.m.
PLACE: Greengineering Lab (GNRG) at Newton North (by the Theater entrance off Elm St.)
FEATURED FOOD: Think green! We will provide crudites (all green, of course), a green beverage (mint...?), and chocolate dirt cupcakes (with yummy gummy worms).
Greengineering teacher Steve Chinosi will talk about this year's projects. Students will also lead tours of the proposed spaces which will provide opportunities to apply learning and skills to the environment. Find out about the following:
Outdoor Classroom, a dynamic classroom, unique green learning lab, and safe gathering place for students and faculty,
Organic Gardening Project, a greenhouse, composting area, and indigenous plants, all of which will show the benefits of sustainable gardening techniques, and
Green Wall Demonstration project, a vertical planned vegetable garden and ornamental moss to promote sustainability, earth science and health.
Our goal is to raise $25,000 for the Green Campus Project from the Newton North community. Families can send a contribution of any size to Newton North or pay online via the website http://edex.northptso.org.
