  • When: Monday, January 27 from 6pm to 8:30pm
  • Where: HYBRID
  • What: This evening is for students and families. 
  • Interpretation: Live Language Interpretation will be provided for the entire evening via Lexikeet: https://stream.lexikeet.com/newton

Agenda:

  • 6pm-6:30pm: Special Education at NNHS. Does your student currently receive Special Education Services? If yes, students and families are invited to meet the department heads for special education and learn about the special education supports at Newton North.
  • 6:30pm-6:45pm - Transition - You may arrive during this time if you are not attending the session on Special Education at NNHS.
  • 6:45pm-7:45pm: Welcome to NNHS! This session includes a welcome from Principal Turner, information about our School Counseling model from Department Head Beth Swederskas, an opportunity to meet Dean Nick Capodilupo, and an overview of the Registration Process with the Vice Principal.
  • 7:45pm-8:30pm - Core Courses at NNHS. You'll hear about Math, English, History, Science and Technology/Engineering, Physical Education Health & Wellness and World Language . Educators will tell you about the courses your student will take in grade 9 and the philosophies of their departments.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Will the sessions be recorded? We intend to record all three sessions and post the youtube links the next day. However, sometimes there are technical difficulties and we can never guarantee the recordings.
  • Where do I park if driving to North? Please park in a parking space in either parking lot. There is a lot on Lowell Avenue and a lot on Walnut Street. The Theater entrance is closest to Newtonville.
