The purpose of the Climate Collective is to provide holistic, non-hierarchical approach to climate justice and organizing. We've planned actions, community events, and educational opportunities as well as connected with other local climate organizations and student groups.

The Compost Club is working to remove food waste from Newton North Trash. Successes include: setting up composting in department offices and rolling-out a one day a week compost program in the cafeteria to educate students on separating compost, recycling, and trash. 

R.A.D. stands for Riding, Advocating, and Delving. The goal of the club is to grow our biking community at North. We organize local bike rides, bike maintenance clinics, and promote bicycle safety (issues and advocacy for more bike lanes. You can develop bike skills through workshops. Members are encouraged to bring their own ideas; if it's bike related, we are up for it!

Rebuild habitats, clean beaches, volunteer at sea animal hospitals, have fundraisers funding ocean charities. 

Our SFA-Sustainability Sub-Committee is working to get our covered bike station repaired.

Our club is focused on making the school a greener and more sustainable place. The members will be working on projects of their choice including creating Pop-Up Thrift Shops and a Reuse Prom Dress Shop. 

Trailblazers increase knowledge of and engagement with the outdoors by getting people active. We lead hikes and nature walks across the state as well as trash pickups in the Newton community. We are also focused on diversifying the outdoors and bringing the whole experience to people who might not have otherwise engaged with nature. Last year, we led several day trips o up to 30 kids as far as Mount Monadnock, as well as many smaller events and fundraisers. 

We visited Mason Rice and taught kindergarten, first, second, and fifth graders about what can be composted, the composting cycle, and the benefits of composting. We will be working on launching a composting contest during lunch to further increase their student engagement and we are hoping to do the same for other Newton schools.
